Standard
A label makes a claim.
A standard puts it to the test.

Vegan. Certified organic. That’s where our standard starts — not where it ends.

What matters is the rest of it — which ingredient we chose, where it came from, how it was processed, how the product was made and packaged. We examine sourcing, processing, manufacture, and packaging, leave out ingredients of concern, and then ask independent bodies to check the result against standards they set.

Olivarrier works with independent standards bodies around the world. What we claim, they verify.

COSMOS Organic
International standard · Brussels, Belgium

A single international standard, agreed on by five of Europe’s leading organic and natural certifiers. It reviews the whole chain — where an ingredient comes from and how it’s processed, through manufacture, storage, packaging, environmental management, and labeling. An accredited body inspects the production site itself. And it doesn’t end with one pass: the certification has to be earned again every year.

Animal Origin · Supply Chain
Vegan Trademark
United Kingdom · The Vegan Society

Run since 1990 by the organization that coined the word “vegan” in 1944. It doesn’t stop at the finished product — it traces every ingredient and its supply chain for animal-derived materials and by-products, checks that neither the company nor anyone acting on its behalf commissioned animal testing, and reviews the practical steps used to minimize cross-contamination during production. It treats vegan as something to verify, not just declare.

Ingredient Review
CertClean
Toronto, Canada · Independent ingredient certification

“Clean” means something different to everyone who uses it. CertClean is an independent certification that reads a product’s full ingredient list, one line at a time, and certifies products whose ingredient lists meet its criteria for ingredients of concern. It turns a vague word into a product-by-product review.

Finished Product · Skin Tolerability
Dermatest
Münster, Germany · Independent dermatological testing

This one tests the finished product on real skin, not the ingredient list on paper. The formula is patch-tested under dermatological control: 24 hours under occlusion, with the skin’s response assessed over 72 hours using the international ICDRG criteria. The last check on a formula happens on skin, not on a document.
